The value of an educated populace is becoming more evident. As campaigns rely increasingly on fear mongering to avoid issues and policy oriented debate, the people's susceptibility to manipulation escalates. Only a citizenry capable of critical thought can hope to avoid the catastrophic mistakes of the past.
